It’s December….still in (Gulf Shores, AL)

We watch the temps at home in IL and IN!  And I read the blog post reporting temps in ND from dear Jane (23 below, minus wind chill)! And now I’m sitting here trying to remember being frigid cold, wrapped up, cashmere and wool socks!  It’s really very ,VERY ODD to me this year! You…

Back to RV Living…yipee! (Alabama)

We escaped Mobile!!! Going back at least a few weeks to getting rid of the trashed Keystone Sprinter TT and moving into the new Grand Design Solitude 5vr, I’ll try to record a little history. Mr. Jer was involved in the initial water leak which was fixable. Then came the issue with the slide falling…

Life sucks at Toad Suck!

I know a strong statement but right about now, we wish we could just fly away! And weren’t parked in a DRY county!!! Let’s get down to the dirty details and then you can read about days in central Arkansas! We are contemplating our options, knowing it will change once we hit our appointment next…

The final days outside Branson! (Missouri/Arkansas)

MOO!!! Hey guys, did you miss me?! It was our last day outside Branson, MO and we decided to make one last walking tour on the trails and grounds of the College of the Ozarks. While we anticipated taking advantage of a month long rate, three weeks was well enough in this area.  We were…

And the wind is whipping off the Gulf!

The long road travels the island with the bay on one side and the Gulf on the other. Immediately you feel lost in the dunes and white sands.  Not a person in sight…just us alone in paradise. Bike lanes the whole way have offered us plenty of room to put the pedals to the pavement….

Beautiful days continue in Alabama…

Beautiful days continue at Gunter Hill walking the roads littered with bridges back to our sweet campsite. But my highlight was Sharon and Ron joining up from Tinycamper, in which you can read all about her visit too.  She was everything and more than I imagined.  Such a sweetness that is infectious.  I can listen to…

Enjoying ALABAMA!

Weathered the storm in Mississippi….just woke up to a few pine grass sprigs and twigs plastered to our rig.  Nothing a fast drive down the highway won’t get rid of!  I do have to say, you can’t hardly hear or feel the wind of a storm in our tight ship! We are now parked outside Montgomery, AL…

BOO! It’s going to be our 1st Halloween on the road!

We couldn’t ask for a better backdrop either.  We’re located on the Davis Lake in the Tombigbee National Forest in upper Mississippi and it’s a jewel!  Seems there is Tombigbee in Alabama, as a river, as a state park, etc.  The rich colors that surround this 220 acre lake have been so rich in hues…

Countdown to hitting the road again…

Three weeks ago we came home!  The home outside the Casita…the home where we are surrounded by family.  We said good-bye to Mr. Jer’s father, whom I call “Dad”! Yesterday, it was a day of celebration at the small country Quaker church and cemetery…one where guns fired a 21 gun salute, a song of Amazing…

Ready up for Fall, Storage, and Thankful Moments!

Ready up the Casita…even if it goes underground, we know how to make it road ready.  Keep putting it off…just don’t want to put it to bed!!!  So off to store we went to purchase some more storage containers that will fit fine underground and the “perfect indoor dump station”…I’m happy.  This handy dandy trash container fits perfect…
